		<description><![CDATA[Excellent article! Its inexcusable really that the governments, especially those elected by the people to represent the people, cannot do the work they need to do ... and fail to see the implications of their inactions.  Yes, each individual has the power to make a difference, but the governments have the power to reach out to more people and often get the job done quicker if they really put for the effort and prioritized.

I actually just posted an article in like manner on my own blog yesterday that takes a Canadian perspective to how the government is failing to take action against climate change.  It went on to say that the governments act without really looking to the future. They &quot;seem to take action only in the most grudging, last-ditch manner.&quot; 

It went on to illustrate your own point by adding, &quot;Instead of making commitments to solve the problem, he said, governments today seem to prefer issuing press releases that create the illusion of serious action.&quot; 

We really do have to be prepared to call their bluff and do the bulk of the work for this planet.
